It is not possible to stand, even for a little while, in front of an Olsen painting without seeing that he loves this wide continent with its bursting, ramshackle countryside and its awesome sweeps of desert and wilderness. Nor can you keep from noticing that, equally, he loves both paint and the act of painting.
