Hear from Patricia Piccinini as she discusses works in Patricia Piccinini & Joy Hester: Through love … including her major new sculpture Sanctuary 2018 based on the artist’s interest in the bonobo, a species of ape that is humankind’s closest living relative. The event will also feature readings of Joy Hester’s poetry by poet, novelist and translator Lia Hills, revealing Hester’s lifelong exploration of the themes of love and intimacy. Lia Hills’ latest novel, The Crying Place, set mostly in Pitjantjatjara country, was longlisted for the Miles Franklin Literary Award 2018.
