Analog Art Club: Slow Water Drawing Workshops
Analog Art Club
Inspiration, without interruption.
Analog Art Club is a statewide initiative that invites Victorians to slow down, switch off their screens and connect in real life — through art. Hosted by galleries across Victoria, these phone-free events offer a welcoming space to reflect, discuss and experience art together, making creativity social, accessible and refreshingly analog.
This program encourages deeper connection with both art and community by fostering genuine, screen-free engagement in a relaxed and inclusive environment.
As part of the Analog Art Club, join us on a series of extended drawing workshops inspired by the Country, landscape and the surrounds of Tarrawarra Museum of Art and centred on the theme of slow-moving water led by an accomplished TWMA artist educator. The intimate drawing sessions will begin with mindfulness exercises designed to help connect with the present moment, fellow participants and the natural surroundings. Participants will focus on creating a sustained drawing of a single subject, working outside in the grounds of TWMA and within its premises. Throughout the workshops, you will receive group and one-on-one guidance on techniques and processes developed around considered observation and with participants encouraged to disconnect from their mobile devices.
Join us on Friday, 7 November from 2-4pm for our next Analog Art Club and be inspired by the slow-moving waters at TarraWarra Museum of Art.
Led by pracitising artist and educator Jonathan Vyssaritis and curator James Lynch, spend two peaceful hours of deep engagement and drawing at the TarraWarra Museum of Art. James and Jonathan will lead a session of visual thinking, memory and pastel drawing in response to artworks from the TarraWarra Museum of Art Collection. Participants will engage with painting treasures from the collection, considering artists representations of water to explore subjective interpretations and working with rich textures of oil pastel medium.
You’ll leave with a beautiful artwork in hand and a renewed sense of connection. Places are strictly limited and all materials supplied.
