Photography and Filming

We understand that TarraWarra is a beautiful place for photography and we welcome photos taken by visitors inside and outside our gallery space and on the Estate. We kindly ask that you abide by our photography rules and guidelines so that others can enjoy their experience at TarraWarra and enjoy all that is Art, Place and Ideas on beautiful Wurundjeri Country.

Please read below for permissions and *fees related to extended photo shoots, drone photography and filming.

Personal Photography

Visitors may use small handheld cameras and mobile phone cameras to take photos for their personal use, unless otherwise signposted. For the protection of artworks and consideration of other visitors, the use of flash and equipment such as tripods, monopoles and selfie sticks is not permitted.

Photography can not be published on any websites without prior permission (see below).

If you plan to take photos on the Estate for more than 15 minutes, we ask that you kindly contact us for permission and to arrange a time outside of our regular opening hours, so that our overall visitor experience is available for everyone to enjoy.

Inside the gallery space, please do not lean on walls, glass, cabinetry, or window frames. Please also look after our artwork.

The bathrooms are to be used by patrons of the gallery and our neighbours at TarraWarra Estate only, and are not to be used as changerooms.

Commercial Photography, Drone Photography, Filming and Extended Private Photo Shoots

TarraWarra Museum of Art welcomes proposals for commercial photography and filming activity. All commercial shoots or extended private photo shoots must be pre-arranged and require a permit which can be applied for through our Permit Application Form. Please see our current Fee Schedule and Permit Application Form for further information.

Strictly no drone photography without permission, TarraWarra Estate is a private property.

Please contact us for engagement or wedding photography and Influencer or Fashion photoshoot requests.

*The fee may not apply to all extended private shoots, please contact us to discuss.

As a not for profit Museum, all fees paid assist us with our ongoing costs and development of creative programs.
