Experience interactive guided education tours for your primary, secondary or tertiary students.

Students are invited to explore modern, contemporary and iconic artworks up close in our exhibitions, visible art storage, gallery and spectacular grounds.

Guided Art Tours

Tailored to the individual needs of your students’ learning objectives, TarraWarra Museum of Art’s guided tours of inventive exhibitions and extraordinary grounds are facilitated by friendly and experienced Museum Educators. Students are provided with information aligned with their curriculum goals and are guided to respond to artworks with creativity, individual expression and art terminology. Coming in March 2025, guided tours will commence from the foyer of the Eva and Marc Besen Centre, where students will be able to view visible art storage of more than 300 artworks on 64 art screens.

Studio Workshops

Commencing in March 2025 in the new Eva and Marc Besen Centre, studio workshops will align with the exhibitions, the Museum’s collection showcased on visible curated racks, the indigenous and native gardens, the Museum grounds and other relevant curriculum content.

Self-Guided Visits

A self-guided visit is a pre-booked trip to TarraWarra Museum of Art where you and your group of students independently explore the Museum’s gallery. Choose a particular learning focus, follow your students’ interests, or wander at your own pace.  Be led by your curiosity!  Cost per student includes admission to the Museum’s exhibition. Bookings essential.

* Entry to the Museum is free for teachers, parents and carers accompanying school tours. As part of the Museum’s subsidised excursion program, all booking costs per student waived for eligible primary and secondary schools.

Subsidised School Excursions

Free guided art tour with a Museum Educator plus free door-to-door bus transport.  

TarraWarra Museum of Art  prioritises an inclusive and accessible learning environment for primary and secondary students. Thanks to generous support from the Museum’s Learning and Engagement partners, the Museum offers a limited number of subsidised bookings to schools up to 65km from the Museum that meet access education criteria including: First Nations students, students with disability and neurodiversitye, students with English as an Additional Language, CALD students and LGBTQIA+ students as well as schools with a low-socio-economic ICSEA index.  

Specific criteria details are available for you to complete during the booking process. After your booking inquiry form is submitted, a member of the Museum’s team will contact you to discuss your school’s eligibility.

In 2025 the Museum will launch a major new building, the Eva and Marc Besen Centre.
