Between Islands is an afternoon of performance and conversation exploring the artists and ideas of the TarraWarra Biennial 2023: ua usiusi fa’ava’asavili.

Between Islands deeply and joyfully explores a key theme of the Biennial: the survival and transmission of knowledge outside of Western Culture. The knowledge systems sustained and practiced by the artists of ua usiusi fa’ava’asavili – ancestral, trans, cultural, familial and embodied–offer us pathways towards cultural renewal, neighbourly exchange and joyful futures.

Featuring a new performance by Bhenji Ra and a conversation with three Biennial artists, we warmly invite you to join us for refreshments at the conclusion of the event.

Between Islands is a partnership between TarraWarra Museum of Art and AsiaTOPA in association with Footscray Community Arts for the TarraWarra Biennial 2023: ua usiusi faʻavaʻasavili, curated by Léuli Eshrāghi.
