Children’s Workshop – Make Your Own Insect & Antarctica Sculptures

Wednesday 23 September 2015
11AM & 2PM

Led by artist Clare James, children will play with perspective, by sculpting small insects larger than life and creating great icy continents that will fit into a little box.

Children will get the chance to interact with different insects and invertebrates, using microscopes and magnifying glasses to examine them closely. They will make their very own small sculptures of insects and spiders and creatures from the imagination.

Participants will view the video installation in the Pierre Huyghe: TarraWarra International 2015 exhibition before building their own little version of Antarctica, with a range of materials supplied, looking at form and texture.

Suitable for children aged 5-12 years old currently enrolled at Primary School. Duration 2 hours. Strictly limited places.

Workshop 1 – 11am – 1pm – Booked out

Workshop 2 – 2pm – 4pm

Tickets $20 child
