Children’s Workshop - The Singular Figure

Artist Sarah Metzner will begin with a group discussion of a few selected works in the Solitaire exhibition, focusing on the artists’ use of singular figures, landscapes, symbolic references, colours and mood. A small selection of the artworks will be studied and referenced in the workshop. Each child is invited to choose one of the works in order to study the use of figures, colours, backgrounds and foregrounds so that they can create their own drawn and collaged work of a singular figure in an urban or natural landscape. All materials are supplied and the workshop concludes with a discussion circle where participants show their artworks and share their insights and feedback constructively together.

Ticket price of $20 includes entry for one adult to the exhibition, allowing parents/carers to relax and explore the Solitaire narrative while the children are unleashing their creativity.
