COLLOQUY by Shelley Lasica
COLLOQUY is a new suite of performances choreographed by Shelley Lasica that embrace Rose Nolan’s interdisciplinary approach to exhibition-making.
At the invitation of Rose Nolan, and taking place alongside Nolan’s exhibition ‘Breathing Helps’, Lasica has created a series of performances and a map that are based on types of dialogue or colloquy. The performance and the map offer choreographic thinking as a process to navigate between the performers, the audience and the exhibition. Rather than activate or respond to the exhibition, COLLOQUY telescopes in and out between the gallery spaces and outside.
Featuring three performers, Indiana Coole, Shelley Lasica and Thomas Woodman, the work takes place three times across the duration of ‘Breathing Helps’. COLLOQUY will be performed amongst the installation of the exhibition, inside the new Eva and Marc Besen Centre and throughout the Museum’s grounds.
Choreography: Shelley Lasica
Performers: Indiana Coole, Shelley Lasica and Thomas Woodman
Performance Dates:
Sunday 10 August, 1-2pm
Sunday 14 September, 1-2pm
Sunday 9 November, 1-2pm
The map, with a text by Lisa Radford, available for the duration of the exhibition, offers a set of propositions or spatial possibilities to imagine a performance whether present or not.
This premiere series of performances of COLLOQUY has been supported by TarraWarra Museum of Art and Creative Australia.
Performances are included with Museum entry. Sign up to our newsletter to be the first to know when tickets are released.
