MEET THE PANELLISTS:
Rose Nolan
Rose Nolan is a Naarm/Melbourne-based artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, photography, and printmaking. Her work explores the spatial and material qualities of language, often using bold text to create large-scale, site-responsive installations. Engaging with modernist legacies and design codes, Nolan’s practice foregrounds repetition, economy, and relational encounters with audiences. In recent years, she has undertaken residencies in New York and Paris and completed major public art commissions across Australia. Her work is held in major national and state collections. She is represented by Anna Schwartz Gallery, Melbourne.
Shelley Lasica
Shelley Lasica is a choreographer and performer based in Naarm/Melbourne. For over four decades, she has explored the intersections of dance, visual art, and performance, presenting work across theatre, galleries, and festivals. Her solo and ensemble works often unfold in collaboration with artists, writers, and designers. Recent highlights include WHEN I AM NOT THERE, shown at MUMA and the Art Gallery of NSW, and her role as lead research associate for Precarious Movements: Choreography and the Museum. Lasica’s practice challenges the conditions of dance-making and its place in contemporary culture.

Augusta Vinall Richardson makes abstract composite sculptures out of sheet and cast metals, employing industrial materials and processes in a practice underpinned by an ethics of responsibility for objects. Her process begins with hand drawings or the building of cardboard and papier-mâché maquettes. In 2022 Vinall Richardson was awarded a Master of Fine Art by Monash University, Naarm/Melbourne. She has exhibited at La Trobe Art Institute, Djaara/Bendigo, and in the 2024 Melbourne Sculpture Biennial.
