Katie Noonan and the Captains

Wednesday 27 October 2010

In an intimate concert at TWMA, Katie Noonan, one of Australia’s brightest musical discoveries, will be joined on stage by an adventurous quartet of violins, viola and cello to bring to life the lush harmonies and storylines of her music.

Katie has always had a close affinity with the fine arts and drew inspiration from the works of the late Arthur Boyd, a painter of modernist landscapes, while she was artist-in-residence at Boyd’s retreat in Bundanon, NSW. Over the years Whiteley developed a similar affinity with musicians such as Bob Dylan and Mark Knopfler and by performing in this space surrounded by his spectacular artworks, Noonan will create a strong synergy between his art and her music.
